Now in our 13^th year, B.B.Q. on the River and Fly In returns with a beautiful venue and fun-filled events for young and old.  We look forward to another successful contest filled with tough competition and the aroma of smoked meats filling the air.  This year’s event will carry a Patriotic theme.  We are very excited to add two new competitions to the event.  We are offering an Early Bird entry fee.  Contestants that turn in their entry form and pay by May 31^st will receive $25.00 off their entry fee and choice of spots for their team.

Your B.B.Q. on the River and Fly In committee is once again hard at work on the 13^th annual B.B.Q. contest in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.  This year’s dates will be August 16^th and 17^th, 2013.  We have many exciting activities planned for all ages to enjoy.  These activities include live performances, kids play area, a beer and wine garden, airplane rides and flyovers, Remax hot air balloon, vendors, and fireworks.  Contestants and spectators look forward to bringing their families and friends to Excelsior Springs for this event. 

Last year we had 74 teams competing for the Grand Championship and this year we are planning on 100 teams.  Last year we were proud to give away $10,000.00 in prize money and donated $13,000.00 to the community.  We have received rave reviews from all that have attended previous year’s events.  The B.B.Q. on the River and Fly In contest has teamed up with the Apple Blossom contest in St. Joseph, Missouri to present a combined Grand and Reserve Grand Champion of Northern Missouri.
